It is the mission of the PAMANA Social Services Committee to provide assistance to any individuals and/or organizations supporting Filipino-Americans or Filipinos for charitable causes.

The Social Services Committee’s charge supports the following PAMANA Mission goals:

  • Provide aid and assistance to humanitarian projects in the local community

  • Provide aid and assistance to humanitarian projects in distressed communities in the Philippines

  • Promote the Filipino culture and value of “Bayanihan”. The Bayanihan (pronounced buy-uh-nee-hun) is a Filipino custom derived from the Filipino word “bayan”, which means nation, town or community.  The term bayanihan literally means “being in a bayan”, which refers to the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to achieve a particular goal. Bayanihan is a core essence of the Filipino culture. It is described as helping out one’s neighbor as a community, and doing a task together, thus lessening the workload and burden of an individual or family.
