Saturday, October 14, 2017 2:09 PM | PAMANA Madison (Administrator)

Coming to Madison, Wisconsin!

Join the Philippine-American Association of Madison & Neighboring Areas (PAMANA) and Sari-Sari Storybooks for a reading of three new Filipino picture books by Christina Buhain Newhard, Fil-Am author-publisher. We'll have a book sale, author signing, and refreshments.

Come and visit the Philippines for an evening through storytelling!

Sari-Sari Storybooks celebrates the quirky magic of Filipino stories by publishing picture books in Philippine languages. These beautifully illustrated stories are written for ages 5-8 years old, are bilingual in English, and come with a glossary and discussion questions. Brought to you by PAMANA and distributor Arkipelago Bookstore, we’re bringing these first three stories to Madison, Wisconsin.

"Melo the Umang-Boy” (An Ivatan tale )

"Kalipay and the Tiniest Tiktik" (A Cebuano tale)

"Amina and the City of Flowers" (A Chavacano tale)

Special thanks to the Gonzales Family for sponsoring the book launch, Ms. Beth Reyes for co-reading and the Wisconsin Women of Color, Inc. for hosting Christina.
